How Gangplank plays
Editorial Reading of the kit above, not a sourced claim - the numbers inside it were checked against the client before publishing.
Parrrley is the heart of Gangplank's old-school lane bully kit, a simple pistol shot that refunds mana and gives bonus gold whenever it lands a kill, which makes last hitting under pressure and finishing off low health enemies unusually rewarding. Grog-Soaked Blade turns every auto into extra poison damage over time, so trades favor him even when they look even on paper. Remove Scurvy is his real trump card in an extended lane, clearing any crowd control on him while healing a solid chunk of health, which means hard engage often just doesn't work against him. Raise Morale gives him a passive edge in stats and an active burst for the whole team when he needs it. Cannon Barrage rains cannonballs over a wide zone, slowing and damaging anyone caught in it, good for split push defense or just denying an area during a siege. He's a slow, melee-range fighter without much mobility, so kiting or hard engage both give him trouble.
Counters & matchups
Remove Scurvy answers the slow-and-poke top laners; hard early duelists beat him before Raise Morale matters.
"In lane" means both champions are played in the same role in Classic; "across the map" represents cross-lane dynamics (e.g. jungler ganks, roaming supports). All matchups evaluated strictly within the 63 Classic launch champions.
