How Pantheon plays
Editorial Reading of the kit above, not a sourced claim - the numbers inside it were checked against the client before publishing.
Pantheon threatens targets that think they're safe on the other side of the map. Grand Skyfall lets him leap into the air and crash down anywhere, dealing area damage and a slow on landing, which makes him a real diving threat even from a completely different lane. Heartseeker Strike is his execute tool, guaranteeing a critical strike against anyone under 15% health, so a target that should have escaped often doesn't. Aegis of Zeonia doubles as an engage and a way to refresh Aegis Protection, the passive shield that blocks his next incoming hit, so timing his abilities around that refresh keeps him surprisingly tanky in extended fights. Spear Shot is simple, reliable poke damage from range that scales well with bonus attack damage. He's a committed all-in champion without much of an escape plan, so a missed ultimate or a botched engage usually leaves him stranded deep in enemy territory.
Counters & matchups
Aegis Protection blocks a basic attack outright, which wins every early auto-attack lane; armor and sustained duelists beat him late.
"In lane" means both champions are played in the same role in Classic; "across the map" represents cross-lane dynamics (e.g. jungler ganks, roaming supports). All matchups evaluated strictly within the 63 Classic launch champions.
