The product, as Riot has announced it

What is League Classic?

Riot's revival of old League - Season 3 as the foundation, with pieces drawn from Seasons 1-4. Old kits, the original Rift, runes and masteries, IP, and a fresh level 1-30 grind. This page tracks what Riot has actually said; anything they haven't detailed yet is marked, not guessed.

Game systems that come back

Old math

Champion stats grow linearly per level, the old way - and cooldown reduction returns in place of modern ability haste. The knock-on effects show up all over our Modern vs Classic ledger.

Runes & masteries

The pre-set rune page (9 / 9 / 9 / 3, bought with IP) and the 30-point mastery trees. Both are already transcribed from the client.

Old Rift, old items

The original Summoner's Rift, and the retired item catalog - 161 items including Deathfire Grasp, Force of Nature, and yes, Shushei's Mana Jug.

Classic Pass & IP

Riot has announced a battle-pass-style Classic Pass alongside the mode, with Influence Points as the earned currency and the old unlock grind intact - including the Classic throwback skins we've extracted from the client, which appear as store items.

What Riot has not detailed publicly: pass pricing and tiers, IP earn rates, and exactly which rewards sit at which levels. Those are DATA_PENDING until they're in the live client - we won't repeat guesses from other sites.

Community voting on what comes next

Riot has said the community will vote on how Classic evolves - including which champions join the roster after launch (community coverage calls this system "the Council").

Mechanics - how voting power works, when votes run, what's on the ballot - are DATA_PENDING. When the system goes live we'll document each vote and its result on the Changes page.

Roadmap: confirmed future champions

Eight champions are confirmed to join after launch, order to be decided by the votes:

FAQ

Do I need a separate client or account?

No separate download - Classic lives inside the normal League client as its own mode. It has its own level 1-30 progression, separate from your main account level.

Is my old account stuff there? Skins, champions?

Classic has its own shop and its own unlock grind with Influence Points. The client ships era throwback skins (like Classic Annie); exactly what carries over from your main account is DATA_PENDING - Riot hasn't detailed it.

Is there ranked?

Yes - Classic gets its own Ranked queue alongside Normals and Co-op vs. AI, per Riot's announcement.

Which patch is it based on?

Season 3 is the foundation, but it's a curated "greatest hits" - some champions and items are pulled from earlier and later, with a roster cutoff around 2013. It is not a museum copy of one patch, and it's already being balanced: see the PBE changes we've recorded.

Will more champions be added?

Eight are confirmed (above), with the community voting on the order. The roster stays era-capped rather than catching up to modern League.

Where do this site's numbers come from?

The client files, checked field by field - here's the method. Anything we can't confirm renders as DATA_PENDING instead of a guess, and every page shows its sources.
