Mana-hungry and relentless, Ryze's whole game plan is casting as fast as his cooldowns allow. Overload passively shaves time off his other cooldowns every time he uses it, which rewards weaving it into his rotation constantly rather than saving it. Rune Prison roots whatever it hits, a simple but reliable way to lock a target in place before the rest of his combo lands. Spell Flux bounces between enemies and reduces magic resist on each hit, so it both damages and softens up a target for everything that follows. Desperate Power is a short but powerful window where all of his spells gain area damage, extra spell vamp, and a burst of movement speed, turning a normal rotation into something that can hit an entire group. Arcane Mastery ties the kit together by shaving cooldowns off everything else whenever he casts a spell. Mana management defines how aggressive he can actually be in a given fight.
