Builds for Janna
Abilities
Janna and her allied champions gain 3% increased Movement Speed.
By creating a localized change in pressure and temperature, Janna is able to create a small storm that grows in size with time. She can active the spell again to release the storm. On release this storm will fly towards the direction it was cast in, dealing damage and knocking away any enemies in its path.
Passive: Increases Movement Speed by 4 / 7 / 10 / 13 / 16% and allows movement through units. Active: Deals 60 / 115 / 170 / 225 / 280 magic damage to an enemy and Slows by 24 / 30 / 36 / 42 / 48% for 2 seconds. Passive benefit is lost while Zephyr is on cooldown. (+60% AP)
Shields an allied Champion or turret for 5 seconds. The shield absorbs up to 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 damage and grants 14 / 23 / 32 / 41 / 50 Attack Damage until it breaks. (+90% AP)
Summons forth the might of the wind to Knockback surrounding enemies and restores 280 / 440 / 600 Health to nearby allies over 4 seconds. (Maximum heal: 280 / 440 / 600) (+35% AP)
How Janna plays
Editorial Reading of the kit above, not a sourced claim - the numbers inside it were checked against the client before publishing.
Janna exists to keep her carry alive and make sure divers regret committing. Zephyr passively speeds her up and lets her walk through units, and its active slow adds a bit of chip damage on top, useful for kiting anyone chasing her lane partner. Eye of the Storm shields whoever needs it and grants bonus attack damage on top, which makes an ally noticeably scarier to fight while it's up. Howling Gale takes some setup, charging in place before it releases, but a fully charged knockback can scatter an entire dive attempt in one cast. Monsoon is her answer to a losing fight: a wide knockback followed by sustained healing for everyone nearby, which can flip a fight that looked lost seconds earlier. She has almost no personal damage output, so her value lives entirely in denying the other team's engage rather than winning trades outright.
Counters & matchups
Monsoon is the hard answer to every engage support in the game; sustain and poke lanes beat her because she cannot trade back.
"In lane" means both champions are played in the same role in Classic; "across the map" represents cross-lane dynamics (e.g. jungler ganks, roaming supports). All matchups evaluated strictly within the 63 Classic launch champions.
