How Lux plays
Editorial Reading of the kit above, not a sourced claim - the numbers inside it were checked against the client before publishing.
Lux plays from as far away as possible and makes sure you know it. Light Binding roots the first two enemies it passes through, with the second target taking reduced effect, which makes her uniquely good at picking off two grouped targets at once. Illumination marks anyone hit by a damaging spell, and her next auto attack against them detonates it for bonus damage, so weaving in an auto after landing a spell matters. Prismatic Barrier is a thrown and returning shield that can protect two different allies on its way out and back, useful for peeling a diver off two different lanes of retreat. Lucent Singularity zones an area before detonating, or can be popped early with a recast if someone walks in unexpectedly. Finales Funkeln reaches across a huge distance and refreshes Illumination on everything it hits, so it often sets up a follow-up auto for extra damage on top of the beam itself. She has almost no escape besides distance itself, so misplaying her positioning is usually fatal.
Counters & matchups
Long-range poke and Light Binding control immobile mid laners and squishy bot lanes; hard-dive assassins (Kassadin, Ahri) and lockdown engage (Leona) punish her lack of mobility.
"In lane" means both champions are played in the same role in Classic; "across the map" represents cross-lane dynamics (e.g. jungler ganks, roaming supports). All matchups evaluated strictly within the 63 Classic launch champions.
