Guide & Strategy Breakdown

Armor Aura Taric stuns with Dazzle (E), gives his team armor while taking it off the enemy with Shatter (W), and adds AD and AP to everyone nearby with Radiance (R).

Armor Aura Taric stuns with Dazzle (E), gives his team armor while taking it off the enemy with Shatter (W), and adds AD and AP to everyone nearby with Radiance (R).

How it plays

Taric is hard to kill in Season 3 and makes the people standing near him hard to kill too. Gemcraft returns mana on his basic attacks, so he can keep casting. Shatter (W) runs a passive armor aura for allies and, on cast, strips armor off enemies in range. Radiance (R) hits the ground for magic damage and hands nearby teammates up to 35 AD and AP.

What to buy

  • Starting Items: Rejuvenation Bead, 2 Sight Wards, and Health Potions.
  • Core Build Rush: Boots of Mobility (Mobility Boots allow Taric to walk up and land targeted point-and-click missile Dazzle E stuns on enemy carries), Philosopher's Stone (Gemcraft passive auto-attacks restore mana while Philo Stone provides health regen and GP10 gold income), Ruby Sightstone (vision control for bot lane brush trades), and Locket of the Iron Solari (Shatter W grants a passive armor aura to allies and active armor shred to enemies; Locket active grants teamwide shield during engages).
  • Situational Options: Radiance (R) + Frozen Heart (Radiance slams the ground dealing magic damage while granting +35 AD/AP aura to all nearby team members; Frozen Heart stacks +95 Armor and reduces enemy ADC attack speed by 20%), Shurelya's Reverie, Randuin's Omen, and Mikael's Crucible.

Summoners and skill order

  • Flash (Flash + Dazzle stun setups) and Exhaust.
  • Max W (Shatter) first for team armor aura and burst damage/shred. Max Q (Imbue) second for targeted heal. Max E (Dazzle) third for stun cooldown.

New to the champion?

Combos worth drilling

  • Dazzle Shatter Burst: Point-and-click E (Dazzle) missile stun -> walk up -> R (Radiance) +35 AD/AP aura -> W (Shatter) armor shred -> ADC executes target.
  • Gemcraft Mana Sustain: Basic attack minions to restore mana via Gemcraft passive and lower Q (Imbue) heal cooldown.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Don't shatter (W) defensively: Shatter grants passive armor to allies. Only activate W when in melee range to shred enemy armor.
  • Don't waste E Dazzle at point-blank: Dazzle stun duration increases with distance (up to 1.5s). Shoot E from max range when engaging.

Playing it out

  • Early Game (Levels 1-5): Cast missile Dazzle (E) stun on the enemy ADC. Walk up, cast Radiance (R) + Shatter (W) armor shred, and let your ADC execute the target. Truly outrageously simple.
  • Mid Game (Levels 6-11): Roam mid with Boots of Mobility. Point-and-click Dazzle stun enemy mages to set up easy kills for your midlaner.
  • Late Game (Levels 12+): Stand in front of your ADC. Pop Radiance (R) to grant your entire team +35 AD/AP, shred enemy tank armor with Shatter (W), and stun diving bruisers.
