Guide & Strategy Breakdown
AP On-Hit Kayle chews through armor and MR with Holy Fervor, throws AoE magic damage at range with Righteous Fury (E), and can make one ally briefly immune to everything with Intervention (R).
AP On-Hit Kayle chews through armor and MR with Holy Fervor, throws AoE magic damage at range with Righteous Fury (E), and can make one ally briefly immune to everything with Intervention (R).
How it plays
Kayle scales like a carry and holds an ultimate that decides fights on its own. Righteous Fury (E) turns her basic attacks into 525-range AoE magic attacks that scale hard with AP. Intervention (R) makes any ally completely invulnerable for up to 3 seconds, which is long enough to waste an entire enemy combo.
What to buy
- Starting Items: Doran's Ring and 2 Health Potions.
- Core Build Rush: Berserker's Greaves (boosts attack speed to maximize Righteous Fury E AoE attacks), Nashor's Tooth (the core item; 20% CDR guarantees perma-uptime on Righteous Fury E ranged AoE attacks while providing attack speed and on-hit magic damage), Lich Bane (Righteous Fury auto-attacks trigger Lich Bane's Spellblade magic damage proc on every target hit), and Rabadon's Deathcap (high AP scales Righteous Fury AoE DPS and Divine Blessing W heal/movement speed while Intervention R grants 3s complete invulnerability).
- Situational Options: Void Staff (strips magic resist alongside Holy Fervor passive % Armor/MR shred), Zhonya's Hourglass, Guinsoo's Rageblade, and Wit's End.
Summoners and skill order
- Flash and Ignite (or Teleport).
- Max E (Righteous Fury) first for non-stop ranged waveclear and damage. Max Q (Reckoning) second for single-target slow % and damage amplification. Max W (Divine Blessing) third for speed and heal.

Combos worth drilling
- Ranged Shred Trade: Q (Reckoning) slow -> activate E (Righteous Fury) -> pelt enemy with ranged AoE auto-attacks, stripping % Armor/MR via Holy Fervor.
- Intervention Clutch: Cast R (Intervention) on yourself or diving ally right as lethal damage hits to grant 3 seconds of invulnerability.
Mistakes to avoid
- Don't let E Righteous Fury drop in combat: Without E active, Kayle becomes melee. Rush Nashor's Tooth for perma-E uptime.
- Don't cast R Intervention too early: Cast R right as burst spells land to absorb maximum damage.
Playing it out
- Early Game (Levels 1-5): Activate E Righteous Fury to push minion waves into the enemy tower. Q Reckoning enemies who attempt to trade, slowing them while you pelt them with E auto-attacks.
- Mid Game (Levels 6-11): Complete Nashor's Tooth for perma-E uptime (20% CDR). Cast Intervention (R) on yourself or diving junglers to turn 2v2 skirmishes around.
- Late Game (Levels 12+): Stand behind your frontline and melt enemy tanks with % Armor/MR shred from Holy Fervor. Cast 3-second Intervention (R) on your hypercarry ADC or yourself when focused.
